The New York Jets will play their first game after they fired head coach Robert Saleh when they host the Buffalo Bills on Monday Night Football. The Jets are now in a must-win situation, which provides a chance to find the best MNF player props involving Aaron Rodgers, Breece Hall, Garrett Wilson, Josh Allen, Braelon Allen, and Keon Coleman.

The Bills dropped two games in a row, but they’re -2.5 road favorites against the Jets at NFL betting sites. The total is 41 over/under in this projected low-scoring AFC East throwdown with two strong defensive units, plus the Jets struggle to put points on the board.

New head coach Jeff Ulbrich stripped offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett of play-calling duties during this week’s internal shake-up. Ulbrich tapped Todd Downing to become the new play-caller. Meanwhile, Bills running back James Cook did not practice this week with a foot injury. He’s listed as questionable on the injury report. Quarterback Josh Allen is the main dude in the Bills running game inside the red zone with two rushing scores, which is why he’s the second favorite on the board to score the first touchdown at +650 odds, an anytime TD at +130 odds, and two or more touchdowns at +900 odds.

Rookie WR Keon Coleman has been making strides with the Bills, and he’s tied for the team lead with two touchdown receptions. We like Coleman at +140 odds to score an anytime touchdown. Tight end Dalton Kincaid leads the Bills with 24 targets. Kincaid only scored one touchdown this season, but he’s +165 odds to find the end zone on MNF.

Bills vs. Jets Prop Bets: Passing

The Bills have the eighth-worst passing attack in the NFL. Allen averages 189.0 passing yards per game, which is his lowest average since his rookie season.

The Jets have the second-best pass defense in the NFL that allows only 136 yards per game. Allen will face a tough secondary on MNF, which is why we like the under for Allen’s passing yards at 210.5.

Rodgers is getting heaps of criticism for being washed up, but the Jets actually have a better passing attack than the Bills with 206.2 yards per game. Then again, Rodgers has thrown for more than 200 yards only three times this season, with only one game with more than 250 yards. Rodgers has a total of 225.5 passing yards on MNF.

Bills vs. Jets Prop Bets: Rushing

The Jets have two amazing running backs, yet they’re ranked dead last with 80.4 rushing yards per game. Let’s see if the Jets’ new play-caller can improve the rushing attack considering Downing’s philosophical emphasis on running the ball. Then again, the horrendous offensive line has done a terrible job protecting Rodgers, and they’ve been even worse in the run game.

At least the Jets catch a break when they face a subpar run defense. The Bills allow 144 rushing yards per game, which is the eighth-worst run defense in the league.

In the first three weeks of the season, Hall averaged 15 carries and 57.3 yards per game. Yet in the last two games, he rushed for 27 yards, including an appalling four yards on 10 carries against the Broncos in Week 4. Hall’s average is down to 39.4 yards per game, but he has a total of 52.5 yards on MNF.

Bills vs. Jets Prop Bets: Receiving

Allen Lazard, one of Rodgers’ other former teammates in Green Bay, has the best chemistry with Rodgers. He’s second on the Jets with 33 targets but leads the team with four touchdown receptions. Lazard averages 48 yards per game, yet his total for MNF is 35.5. He caught at least 34 yards in four out of five games this season.

Wilson leads the Jets with 57 targets this season yet only hauled in 33 receptions. He averages 58.2 yards per game, but his total for MNF is slightly higher at 61.5.
